Jose Mourinho has a special relationship with Inter following his Treble winning work, but the Roma coach has a taboo to overcome now.

The Portuguese coach did not have a pleasant return to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza earlier this season when his Roma side 2-0 to the Nerazzurri in the Coppa Italia semi-finals. Earlier this season, the Giallorossi fell 3-0 at home to Simone Inzaghi’s side, leaving Mourinho frustrated.

As noted by Opta, Mourinho has never beaten Inter before in his career and if he fails to beat them tonight then the Nerazzurri would be the only team (faced more than once) that he has a 100% loss record against.

The Portuguese coach made a small dig at his former side at his Roma unveiling, suggesting that it’s easy to win when unable to pay salaries, but he’s still not managed to hit back on the pitch yet, something he hopes to change tonight.

  1. Never going to happen. As I’ve pointed out elsewhere, his Roma will fold because he’s an Inter mole. I’ve actually made money on this because I was so confident that he’d throw the game. Vergogna.
