Roma boss José Mourinho said he wouldn’t watch the Serie A derby in the Champions League between Milan and Napoli in favour of Real Madrid-Chelsea, two of his former clubs.

The Special One spoke to Sky Sport Italia on Wednesday evening, on the eve of Thursday’s Europa League meeting between his Roma side and Feyenoord in Rotterdam.

When asked whether he’d spend the night watching his Serie A opponents clashing at San Siro in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals, Mourinho replied: “No, I won’t, I’ll watch Real Madrid-Chelsea.”

The Giallorossi will meet Feyenoord in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals tonight, almost one year after their victory over the Dutch side in the Conference League Final.

Mourinho is convinced Roma can go on to win the Conference League this term, but the depth of his squad continues to be a matter of concern: “If teams like Inter and Milan struggle to play twice a week, imagine us,” he continued.

“The league is difficult, teams in the second half of the table have a lot of quality.”

Milan eventually beat Napoli 1-0 at San Siro, while Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid secured a 2-0 win over Chelsea at the Estadio Bernabeu.
