The Brazilian was left out of the squad for last night’s Spanish Super Cup 3-2 first leg defeat at Barcelona and the tactician later explained the reasons why.

“I knew I had Gonzalo Higuain and Angel Di Maria if I needed attacking changes during the game,” the former Inter boss stated.

“I then had Esteban Granero and Lass Diarra for the midfield and two defenders also on the bench, so there was no room for Kaka.”

Kaka’s future is in serious doubt after interest from numerous clubs across Europe, but specifically from the Rossoneri.

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani has confirmed that the attacking midfielder could be re-signed at the end of a summer which has witnessed some big name San Siro departures.

However, it remains to be seen whether the Diavolo have the finances in place to cover the 30-year-old’s personal terms.
