Roma coach Jose Mourinho hit out at Juventus after a penalty in their Champions League win over Zenit. ‘One had to be retaken, one hadn’t… Guess which?’

The tactician is still smarting after the 2-1 Serie A home defeat to Juve, which saw Jordan Veretout’s spot-kick parried by Wojciech Szczesny.

Roma argued that should’ve been retaken due to encroachment from Giorgio Chiellini, who then proved decisive in clearing the loose ball.

On the other hand, Juventus were given a lifeline in the Champions League against Zenit St Petersburg when Paulo Dybala initially fired his penalty wide.

The referee ordered it to be retaken for encroachment, which ultimately didn’t make a difference to the outcome of his shot.

Dybala converted at the second time of asking.

Mourinho took to Instagram for a sarcastic comment and placed the two images side-by-side for easy comparison.

‘One had to be retaken, one hadn’t… Guess which?’

  1. Oh boy.

Mourinho, if it would be the other way around, and you’d be benefiting from the call by the referee and Juventus would be penalised, would you make this BS post?

No? Then stop your idiotic projecting and virtue signalling.

Incidentally, the results can be compared ONLY if they’re both calls made by the same referee! If they’re 2 different referees in 2 different competitions, maybe complain to the referees?

  2. Idiot Mourinho at it again. Always wanting to create controversy because he is a winnie baby. No class, no skill guy. He is a big mistake. He should stop watching Juve games and instead focus on his team.

  3. Arise Lord Allegri, cometh the hour, cometh the slow ball. The win against Real St. Petersburg has gotten to the heads of the Juve faithful.

I bet the the same haters will be bashing Mountain Goat Herder Max if Fiorentina pull out the win on Saturday.

The only club that requires 2 penalties to be taken after Diego Armando Dybala fluffed the first one despite the Real St. Petersburg barely being in the 18 yard box.

As for Moronninho, he needs to doth his cap in respect to the back pass master General Max as even Rube kept a rare clean sheet against the whipping boys of the Champions League 3rd Division.

  4. This guy is getting petty and pathetic now.

“I don’t wanna talk about referees”

As if you can help yourself.

  5. Go back to sleep, Jose. All your guy had to do was score the penalty. The fact that he was given one v Juventus already invalidates his theory of favouritism. Losers look for excuses beyond themselves.

  6. That’s the new rules Jose, Juve will take as many penalties as they need and they will be retaken until mr 10 mln a year will score.

  7. If it weren’t for Mr. Bodo Glimt himself making the joke on instagram… please don’t get distracted by social media and focus on the big return leg against Bodo… PLEASE

  8. funny that all the juventini attack Mourinho for telling the truth.
either they are blind or just happy cheating. i think it is the latter.

  9. @dzurjakcsopi
as a roma fan i find it more funny that is juventus vs zenit and the one that blame referee is roma coach. And it’s become funnier after he just said ” I don’t wanna talk about referees” days ago.

he should focus on his team who lost 5 times in the last 10 matches. Fonseca is better than this overrated big mouth manager

  10. If it wasn’t for Juve dragging the league on their back in Europe for the past decade

The Italian league would be fighting with Portugal and Russia on coefficient points

Yet half the country still hates them.

    Focus on urself

  11. @Kev
strange. so we should all forget that rubentus are helped by the refs every season, cos they “drag the league on their backs in Europe”.
with a little more help in Italy, they might have won the CL. you are joking i hope.
