Chelsea have seemingly pulled out of the race for Inter midfielder Fredy Guarin, after Coach Jose Mourinho denied interest in the Colombian.

The 27-year-old had been widely tipped to join the ranks at Stamford Bridge in January, with reports claiming that the two clubs were in discussions over a transfer.

However, Portuguese tactician Mourinho has moved to quell these rumours.

“Guarin? It’s not true that he is of interest to me,” he told reporters.

Chelsea midfield men Juan Mata and Kevin De Bruyne have been linked with moves to the peninsula with Juventus recently, with both struggling for first team opportunities, and the former Porto boss didn’t rule out transfers away for the talented pair.

“For [Juan] Mata, I haven’t had any offers, while as for [Kevin] De Bruyne, we are evaluating him at the moment.

“He’s a fantastic footballer with enormous potential.”
