Roma coach Jose Mourinho brought Felix Afena-Gyan back to the main squad after punishment for staying out late at a nightclub.

The teenage striker had been pushed out to train with the Primavera youth team squad for three days this week, as punishment for what Mourinho considered to be unprofessional behaviour.

Afena-Gyan was one of several players who were spotted at a nightclub until dawn just hours after being forced to pull out of the Serie A trip to Spezia with a hip injury.

Mourinho and the club agreed that the 19-year-old should get a wake-up call with several days training back in the youth team.

The punishment seems to be over, as after three days with the Primavera, Afena-Gyan was spotted back at work with the senior squad today.

The Ghanaian only turned 19 in January and became an overnight sensation when scoring two goals in Roma’s 2-0 victory away to Genoa on November 21.

Mourinho famously bought him a pair of €800 trainers as a gift after that brace off the bench.
