New Roma boss Paulo Fonseca says he is ‘very happy and motivated’ to start work after landing in the Italian capital.

Fonseca touched down in Rome on Monday morning ahead of formally taking charge on Wednesday, and the ex-Shakhtar Donetsk Coach is excited about his new ‘adventure’.

“I’m very happy and motivated to start this adventure,” the 46-year-old told reporters at Fiumicino airport.

Calciomercato.com, meanwhile, reports the Portuguese will ask for Nicolo Zaniolo not to be sold, as well as more time to evaluate Patrik Schick, Cengiz Under and Justin Kluivert.

He would also be ready to discuss potential replacements for defender Kostas Manolas and striker Edin Dzeko.
