Emiliano Moretti has played down the notion that Torino can qualify for next season’s Champions League, despite the side flying high in Serie A.

Sunday’s 2-0 win against Crotone was Torino’s second League victory in a row, which leaves them just four points behind third-placed Milan, but Moretti insists his team are only focused on sustaining their current run of form.

“This Toro have shown that they aspire to be in the upper echelons of the League,” the veteran defender told Tuttomercatoweb.

“We played well on a difficult pitch: Crotone, despite what their position says, are a good team that play in an entertaining way. We did well with our management of the game.

“Can we talk about Toro in the Champions League? No, I think we should instead talk about a Toro that are working well and have plenty of room for improvement.”
