Monza’s management are not impressed after the club’s poor start to the season and the next match against Udinese will be key for coach Giovanni Stroppa, reports suggest.

Silvio Berlusconi’s side had a decent summer transfer window as they prepared for their first ever topflight campaign, keen to show the old guard some new tricks. Monza suffered a painful 2-1 home loss to Torino in their season opener and a 4-0 loss to Napoli yesterday did little to improve the mood in Lombardy.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Monza’s next match against Udinese could already be vital for coach Stroppa, with the club’s management unhappy with what they’ve seen on the pitch so far.

The passive attitude seen on the pitch has not impressed the management, so they’re keeping a close eye on Stroppa and his Monza squad as they prepare to host the Friulian side.

Considering their newly promoted status and the relative difficulty of their opening two fixtures, the situation seems a little harsh on Stroppa, who’ll need a little time to integrate his new signings.

  1. While I have my doubts about Stroppa, what on earth are Monza expecting? They’ve completely overhauled their squad, let alone the first team. It’ll take weeks if not months for them to gel. Factor in that they’ve had two very difficult fixtures and it’s no surprise they are this predicament. What will Monza do? Give Stroppa’s potential replacement 2-3 games to prove themselves??
