The San Siro giants are reported to still be attempting to agree a severance package with current boss Clarence Seedorf, who still has two years left to run on his contract.
Speaking at a Press conference at Italy’s Coverciano training base today, the midfielder did not want to discuss the situation at his club side in great detail.
In any case, he said that he was unable to give an informed opinion on Inzaghi, due to the fact he has never been coached by the 40-year-old.
“I can’t give an opinion on him because I don’t know him,” Montolivo told the media this afternoon.
“I will only give an opinion of him if and when he becomes Coach. At the moment the Coach is Clarence Seedorf.
“I have a feeling of confidence that all the fans should also have – the club and the owner are taking these decisions for the good of Milan.
“I am following the situation, but at the moment I don’t think there’s any point in continuing to talk about the subject.”
Montolivo also answered questions on Seedorf’s decision making, the motivation of the Azzurri’s Milan contingent heading into the World Cup and teammate Matteo De Sciglio.
“Every Coach sees football in their own way and they make their decisions for the benefit of the team. Seedorf made some decisions and it was his right to make them.
“Of course, we Milan players have more motivation compared to others because we have underperformed this season.
“De Sciglio can play both on the right and left, it depends on the Coach’s choice.”
