The tactician was formally appointed today with a contract running to June 2018.
“I have returned here for the third time and it’s a touching occasion,” he told Samp TV. “It’s like being young again.”
The 41-year-old first joined the Blucerchiati as a player in July 1996 and was sold to Roma three years later.

L’Aeroplanino came back for another spell on loan from Roma in 2007-08.
