Samir Handanovic has finally agreed to sign a contract extension with Inter, it’s reported this evening.

The goalkeeper’s current deal is due to expire in June 2016, so he could officially start negotiations for a free transfer in January.

Handanovic has repeatedly stated there is “no problem” with the Nerazzurri, but the contract has still not been renewed.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Slovenia international has at last accepted terms and looks set to sign a new deal within days.

The 31-year-old admitted last season that he was frustrated at not playing in the Champions League.

He moved from Udinese to Inter for €12m in July 2012.
