Former Italy and Roma striker Vincenzo Montella is set to be appointed Turkey’s national team coach, signing a three-year contract, reports Fabrizio Romano.

The Aeroplanino has reportedly reached an agreement with the Turkish Federation and will soon sign a three-year deal to become Turkey’s national team coach.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Montella and the Turkish Federation shook hands on Tuesday.

Montella, a former Italian striker who played for Empoli, Sampdoria, Genoa, Roma and Fulham, left Turkish side Adana Demirspor this past June after winning 38 of his 76 games in charge of the team.

Montella started his managerial career in Roma’s youth sector and was promoted to first-team coach in 2011.

He then took charge of Catania, Sampdoria, Milan and Fiorentina twice. He worked with Hakan Calhanoglu during his time in charge of the Rossoneri and will reunite with the Inter playmaker with the Turkey national team.
