Vincenzo Montella praised former teammate Francesco Totti, but left the door open for next season at Catania.

The ex-Roma star saw his team earn a 2-2 draw at the Olimpico this evening and Totti bagged a brace after Juan Pablo Carrizo saved a penalty.

“Totti had a fantastic game tonight and it is a pleasure to watch him play. We have had a good season, lately a little less impressive because motivation dropped, but we were inspired by an important adversary and stadium today.

“We always try to play our game and I liked our attitude more after going behind, as we pushed and were almost a little arrogant. Roma played with attacking full-backs and we could’ve done better on the counter.”

Montella impressed as a Coach at Roma and now Catania, so has been heavily linked with jobs at Fiorentina” data-scaytid=”34″>Fiorentina, Napoli and Inter.

“I am a novelty, so people talk about me, but I’m a relaxed and balanced person. I need that attitude even more as a Coach.

“I have a contract and intend to respect it. At the end of the season I’ll meet with the club and discuss the situation over my role and reconstructing the squad.”
