“Does that seem disastrous to you?”

The 45-year-old then discussed Saturday’s showdown with Juve, Federico Chiesa’s situation and the ‘exemplary’ Franck Ribery.

“Few teams have beaten Juve lately, but I’ll also try because great stories are born from impossible challenges.

“I’d like to open a great chapter in Fiorentina’s history by doing something special against Sarri’s team.

“Franck played the friendly with Perugia as if he was playing in the Champions League Final.

“We’re talking about a star who excelled through sacrifice. He’s a formidable example for everyone to follow.

“The club haven’t set objectives that need to be met at all costs, but I want to build a team who make our fans say: ‘It’s worth going to the stadium to watch Fiorentina.’
