Vincenzo Montella is concerned by Atalanta, but warns Fiorentina are targeting the Coppa Italia Final.

Their Round of 16 clash kicks off on Wednesday at 17.00 GMT and the winners will go on to face Roma or Empoli on February 3.

“Atalanta are a very organised and tough team with quality players,” said Montella in his Press conference.

“On Sunday they put in an excellent performance to beat Milan at San Siro. We expect a very similar approach from Colantuono’s team. The Nerazzurri are tactically smart and will be very motivated to get through.”

Fiorentina were in the Final last year, beaten 3-1 by Napoli at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

“As a team and a club we care about the Coppa Italia a great deal and will give our all to reach the Final.

“We have a large squad and will certainly send out a competitive line-up to win this game. Before choosing the starting XI I’ll have to get some confirmation on the physical fitness of some players.

“I think Tatarusanu will play in goal because he needs to play in order to get the right familiarity with the match situation.”

Alessandro Diamanti is still waiting for his Viola debut, but Montella assures “there’s no rush. His desire to play is very strong and so is my intention to see him play at 100 per cent.”
