“We hope the Roma we see tonight is closer to the one seen against Milan, which deserved to win, than the Fiorentina performance,” Monchi told Sky Sport Italia.

“The lads are fired up and eager to find the path to victory again. We should see a similar Roma performance to last week with Milan.”

The Giallorossi were humiliated 7-1 in the Coppa Italia by Fiorentina, following that up with a 1-1 Serie A draw against Milan.

Zaniolo starts again this evening in a deeper midfield role and the 19-year-old is becoming a sensation.

“We are all happy with what the lad is doing, but also want to keep him calm. He is still growing and needs to be left in peace, because we are talking about him too much.

“Zaniolo helps the team a lot, but he’s not the only one.”
