The transfer guru terminated his contract with the Giallorossi by mutual consent, less than 24 hours after the club sacked Coach Eusebio Di Francesco.

He was widely expected to sign for Arsenal, where he’d be reunited with ex-Sevilla Coach Unai Emery.

However, Sevilla President Jose Castro confirmed they had “started negotiations with him. His receptiveness has been extraordinary. We have to agree on future plans, but both parties are optimistic.”

This morning, Monchi posted an update on Instagram and Twitter that points to the comeback.

“The heart never forgets the place where it left its most beautiful beats,” read the motto.

He then added: “Just this… which at times means a great deal.”
