“We’ve heard and read all sorts of things from the pre-closing stages to today. As President Silvio Berlusconi tweeted, let’s stick to the facts,” the director of sport told Sky Sport Italia after growing talk of financial problems at San Siro.

“We have owners who so far have respected all the deadlines, never mind the chatter, as we focus on concrete issues. We have other things to think about, such as putting ourselves back on track in a sporting sense.

“We can’t make any more mistakes, as we are still in all three competitions. Before January 6, we must prove that we’ve made significant steps forward, despite the difficulties of the last few months.

“We are all in pain after a defeat and it ruins my whole week. We mustn’t get accustomed to losing, even if it has happened many times this season. We must remember that we are Milan.”

Ricky Kaka visited the Milan camp today and is in the stands for tonight’s game amid reports he’ll take on a role at the club.

“Kaka was a great player for Milan, he still is now, even if he has to decide what he’s doing as a grown-up. He is someone who remained in the hearts of the Rossoneri and the door will always be open for him at Milan.”
