Inter’s Diego Milito reassured he will “certainly remain here, or at least I hope I will,” and looks forward to the “special” derby with Milan.

“I have always said that I am very happy, am at a great club and will certainly remain here. Or at least I hope I will,” the 33-year-old told Sky Sport Italia.

“I am sure Inter will become competitive again. Massimo Moratti is someone who always wants to see his team do great things and I’m confident he will invest so from next season we’ll be competitive on all fronts.”

The Nerazzurri lost 3-1 at Parma on Wednesday night, but are still in the running for a Champions League spot.

“We fell a little off the pace for third, but will try not to think about that right now. At the end of the season we’ll see how we are doing in the table and evaluate the situation.

“The derby is always a very special game and one we all feel passionate about. We will try to win for our fans. We know that we could be the turning point for the Scudetto, but the truth is we just want to make our supporters happy.”

Milan are just one point shy of Serie A leaders Juventus with two rounds to go.
