Arkadiusz Milik discussed his move to Juventus in the summer and his role under coach Massimiliano Allegri.

The 28-year-old Polish forward joined the Bianconeri on a loan deal with a €7m buy option attached from Olympique Marseille this summer, adding an experienced striker to Allegri’s squad. Things have started fairly well in Turin for Milik, who has scored three goals in eight Serie A appearances this season.

Speaking to L’Equipe, Milik first discussed his relationship with coach Allegri.

“I speak Italian well and this is an important advantage. I have no problem understanding the coach and all the instructions he gives me.”

He commented on the tactics on display in Italy.

“Here in Italy there is much more tactics, both in training and in the match. In France, on the other hand, there are many more spaces for quick players, or wingers who run a lot.”

The 28-year-old reflected on his time with Olympique Marseille.

“At Marseille I did well, but I could do much better and I know that. Sometimes, however, to do better, especially with my characteristics, you need good people around you, who also play for you.”

Milik spoke about Juventus’ long interest in him.

“The contacts for my transfer started before the match against Nantes, in which I remained on the bench.

“Juventus had been chasing me since I was at Napoli, but at the time it wasn’t possible to find a match. We’re happy to have found each other again today.”

Finally, Milik gave his thoughts on playing in a two-man strike team alongside Dusan Vlahovic.

“In almost all the games I played in Turin I had another striker on my side, I think this way it’s easier because you have more solutions.”

Before his move to Turin, Milik spent 18 months in France with Olympique Marseille, where he made 55 appearances across all competitions. In that time, he scored 30 goals and provided three assists.
