Milan directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara have left for Belgium today as they work to try and agree a deal with Club Brugge for Charles De Ketelaere.

The Rossoneri are huge fans of the 21-year-old Belgian and believe he’d be the perfect addition to Stefano Pioli’s squad, able to play as a trequartista as well as a winger or forward. Leeds United are also incredibly keen to pick up De Ketelaere, forcing Milan to act decisively.

Gianluca Di Marzio details how Maldini and Massara have flown to Belgium today to continue talks with Club Brugge and try to find an agreement. Today’s meeting isn’t aimed at finalising the transfer, but instead understanding the margins for negotiation and how to move forward.

The Rossoneri are ready to spend around €32m total for the 21-year-old Belgian and they’ll be hoping to close out a deal ahead of the rapidly approaching Serie A season, which starts in less than a month now.
