According to various sources in Italy and Spain, Brahim Diaz is set to finalise a two-year loan at Milan, but Real Madrid want to retain his ownership.

The midfielder has just completed a one-season loan at San Siro, growing as the campaign went on and given different roles under coach Stefano Pioli.

Spanish newspaper Diario AS claims that the details are being whittled down for a two-season loan deal.

Crucially, as Sky Sport Italia had already mentioned last night, this means Milan will no longer have an option to buy Brahim Diaz at the end of the two years.

The Rossoneri had wanted an option, with Real Madrid given a counter-option so they could bring the talent back to base.

Brahim Diaz turns 22 next month and scored a goal in his senior Spain debut this summer.

He made 39 competitive appearances in the Milan jersey last season, contributing seven goals along with four assists for his teammates.
