Mattia Destro says he is proud to have a fan in Milan President Silvio Berlusconi, but he insists his future is at Roma.

The Italian international is a known transfer target for the Diavolo and Berlusconi recently publicly spoke of his admiration for the centre-forward.

“Milan? You should never say never, but I still see myself at Roma next season,” the former Inter, Genoa and Siena man told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Despite my difficulties, I don’t regret coming here. This experience is positive for me, the squad is beautiful and the fans are treating me well.”

Destro, 21, has scored just four goals in 16 League games for the capital club since his arrival.

The striker was also asked about which of his teammates had surprised him with their ability at the Stadio Olimpico.

“I’ll say Alessandro Florenzi and Miralem Pjanic,” he responded. “Miralem is extraordinary and he’ll be one of the strongest midfielders in the world in a couple of years.”
