Milan target Allan Saint-Maximin is seemingly at war with Nice after pulling out of their Ligue 1 match against Angers on Saturday.

Nice boss Patrick Vieira hit out at Saint-Maximin, claiming the winger refused to take part in the side’s 3-0 defeat to Angers.

“Saint-Maximin decided he was sick. I’m disappointed that he didn’t participate in the trip,” Vieira said after the game.

“It was his decision, not mine or the doctor’s. He had absolutely no fever, like he said. It’s hugely disappointing.”

That prompted the France Under-21 international to reply: “I discovered the Coach’s statements at a Press conference.

“I won’t deny being quite surprised. The doctor came to me this morning and everything seemed clear.

“There may have been a communication problem, but nothing that couldn’t be solved with a phone call.”

The 21-year, who continues to be heavily linked with Milan, then went a step further with a cryptic Instagram post.

“The truth isn’t what one says but what one proves,” he wrote.
