Milan could reportedly land Sampdoria striker Stefano Okaka in January, by sending Giampaolo Pazzini in the other direction.

Okaka has managed two goals and an assist for Sampdoria so far this season, and was given his first Italy cap by Antonio Conte on Tuesday night.

By contrast, Pazzini has played a total of just 69 minutes for Milan this season, and it would appear that the big striker is surplus to requirements at San Siro.

The Milan striker has been consistently linked with a return to the Blucerchiati, where he spent two-and-a-half successful seasons, scoring 36 goals in 75 Serie A games.

Now the Gazzetta dello Sport believes that Pazzini could be used as part of a deal to bring Stefano Okaka to the Rossoneri.

The sports daily reports that Milan would attempt to pull off the deal in January, offering Pazzini as a sweetener to Samp President Massimo Ferrero who the paper believes would love to reunite the Pazzini-Cassano strike partnership which brought success in the past.

However, the newspaper believes that a stumbling block could be Sampdoria Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic, who would be loathe to see Okaka leave in January.

A swap deal for Pazzini would be off the cards in the summer, as the striker’s contract expires at the end of the season, and Gazzetta reports that the former Fiorentina man has already had offers to move to the USA and play in MLS.
