Milan have promised to have Alexandre Pato back ‘soon’ and ‘even stronger than before’, after his latest injury setback.

A 13-minute comeback cameo off the Camp Nou bench against Barcelona was enough to rule the Brazilian out for the rest of the season with another muscle injury, reportedly his 14th in 27 months.

Where club doctor Jean Pierre Meersseman expressed his sorrow and confusion at the striker’s latest setback, the club have come out with a strong message of belief that they can help the player overcome these struggles.

“All at AC Milan are strongly determined to solve in a positive manner and within the shortest timeframe possible the muscle problems of Alexandre Pato,” read a statement released through the club's website.

“Numerous roads both diagnostic and therapeutic remain open and there is no doubt that the current situation will be overcome in a satisfactory manner. Pato will soon come back even stronger than before.”

Just last week and before Pato’s appearance against Barca, the club flew him out to America to consult a specialist in a move that left Meersseman and Adriano Galliani in agreement that a ‘definitive solution’ had been found.
