Fiorentina’s owner Andrea Della Valle won’t even talk about Serie B football at the club, during its fight against relegation.

La Viola’s form in recent months has been such that they now find themselves with eight rounds of the campaign left sat in 17th place, just five points above the drop-zone.

Della Valle, however, is confident that the club will beat the threat of relegation, as they did in 2004-05.

“We’ve been through a situation like this before,” the honorary President told gathered reporters on Thursday.

“We surely will come out of it. I never expected to find myself in the same situation as seven years ago but the reality is this.

“Let us collect these six or seven points, save ourselves and then rebuild it all together.

“Am I afraid of Serie B? I’m concerned, but the term ‘Serie B’ is one I will not even hear at the club.

“I understand the disappointment and anger of the fans, but now we must all remain close. Here we are all examining our conscience.

“I disagree with those who say this group has no personality. I saw the players yesterday and today and they look eager to beat relegation.

“Delio Rossi, after the anger of last Sunday, is now determined. In Milan we have nothing to lose and ultimately away from home we have played better.”
