Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani has congratulated champions Juventus, but insisted his side’s campaign has not been a failure.

The Rossoneri will finish the season empty-handed after last night’s 4-2 loss to Inter gave Juve the Scudetto with one game left to play.

“Juventus have won and my compliments go to them,” he stated. “We’ve finished second after last year’s first, therefore we’ll get going again.

“Now we are just concentrating on ending the season on Sunday and then we’ll think about next term.

“We have time to analyse what has happened during the campaign, but we are nevertheless satisfied with what we achieved.

“We’ve finished first and second since Coach Massimiliano Allegri arrived. It has been a positive campaign, even if we wanted to finish it differently.”

Galliani was then asked about the club’s plans for players – both in terms of the transfer market and the 10 men who have contracts expiring in June.

“New signings? We already have world class players,” he responded.

“We’ll start to discuss the renewals this week. I don’t know with whom we will start with, there is no order, but the doors are open.”

Alessandro Nesta, Massimo Ambrosini, Gennaro Gattuso, Flavio Roma, Gianluca Zambrotta, Mario Yepes, Mark Van Bommel, Mathieu Flamini, Clarence Seedorf and Pippo Inzaghi have just weeks left on their deals.
