Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara’s trip to Belgium didn’t produce anything concrete for Charles De Ketelaere, but it has reportedly confirmed Milan’s strategy now.

The Rossoneri sent key directors Maldini and Massara to Bruges for a long meeting with the Club Brugge executives, hoping to iron out a deal for the 21-year-old Belgian talent, or at least set clear parameters. Milan have had their sights set on De Ketelaere for a while now but have been facing tough competition from Leeds United.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan have decided that the talks for De Ketelaere will not extend beyond this week. Should a deal not be agreed by then, the Rossoneri would look to focus on other targets instead, only having a few weeks until the start of the Serie A season.

If Club Brugge accept Milan’s offer, De Ketelaere would leave Belgium for the Lombardy capital, with the paperwork ready to go. Milan have a concrete offer worth €32m including add-ons for the 21-year-old, and they could raise the figures a little to try and push the deal over the line, although a substantial increase won’t be made.

  1. Sounds like a plan: “We got lost in a dark forest, but we’re still going to light a barbecue fire” !

  2. I hope this deal fails, CDK is overrated, the dude is weak, slow and decision making he not there yet. Just get Lang and move on
Asencio would be an upgrade and a statement sign on Milan‘s RW.

  3. He’s only 21. There is not one player aged 21 who’s decision making is already there. It was the same for Mbappé, Ronaldo, Messi and everybody else too.

CDK is the perfect player for Pioli. The way his formation evolved last season he needs a midfielder/striker hybrid to play behind the striker, as our second striker is Leao, and CDK has played all those positions.

  4. Seems reasonable. Better to have a deadline than to let it drag out all summer, ala Renato Sanches.

  5. Hope is falls through. Who is this man anyway?!
Are we strengthening or just buying a load of foreign youngsters who might come good or might not; n more often than not its the later outcome.
I mean the fact the only other rival team chasing this ‘star’ is Leeds, Leeds this speaks volumes. Leave this kid where he is OR let leeds have have him
