Reports are gaining momentum that Milan have asked Chelsea for a loan with option to buy for Hakim Ziyech in January.

The reigning Serie A champions had already approached Ziyech over the summer, but ultimately decided to pool all their investment cash into buying Charles De Ketelaere from Club Brugge.

The Belgium international has struggled to make an immediate impact, so the Rossoneri have gravitated back towards the more experienced Ziyech.

According to the Evening Standard newspaper, Ziyech is eager to leave Stamford Bridge after just two starts for Chelsea this season and the initial negotiations are for a six-month loan with option to buy.

He is currently at the Qatar World Cup with Morocco and will make a decision on his future after the competition.

The 29-year-old plays as a trequartista behind the strikers, but can also work on the right wing, where Milan have had problems.

Chelsea purchased Ziyech from Ajax in 2020 for €40m.
