Milan are set to engage in direct negotiations for Girondins de Bordeaux midfielder Jean Onana and have two options to get him, claim Sky Sport Italia.

The Rossoneri are still seeking a replacement for Franck Kessie after he left as a free agent to join Barcelona.

There have been several candidates and the latest is Onana, as Gianluca Di Marzio claims the player’s agents will be in Bordeaux tomorrow to present Milan’s proposal.

He was not even on the bench for this evening’s Ligue 2 match against Grenoble and this was seen as a sign he is on the way out.

The 22-year-old Cameroon international has an asking price of €10m, but Bordeaux have financial problems and need to get a sale done quickly.

It’s reported Milan are offering €5-6m including add-ons to get a permanent deal now, but are also prepared to take the player on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.

  1. I haven’t watched this guy but I doubt he can help us immediately. We don’t need another Pobega. We need another midfielder close to the level of Tonali and Bennacer.

  2. another fish from the pond …… will he make it at the end? ….. probably not like many, many others ……

  3. Ligue 2 midfielder to play in a Title Challenging – Champions League participating side. Makes sense….

  4. If people have a look, Onana started a lot for Bordeaux last season as well as Adli.
Adli looks ready and I think Onana is ready too.

  5. @dollarumma: That’s how our team use to operate nowadays, getting Bennacer/Krunic from relegated Empoli, then Tonali from relegated Brescia, Adli from now-relegated Bordeaux.. Personally I don’t care where our next players are coming from, as long as they have the quality.

Having said that, I have no idea about this guy lol. Thankfully, I am pretty sure our scouting team do 🙂
