Max Allegri saw only one positive from the 0-0 draw against Sampdoria, and that was the clean sheet. ‘We dropped two points and what we must never do in football is back off.’

The Bianconeri took a step backwards after the 3-0 win over Sassuolo, creating very few genuine scoring opportunities at Marassi in this 0-0 draw.

Sampdoria hit the woodwork twice, with Mattia Perin’s fingertip save on Medhi Leris and Dusan Vlahovic risking an own goal.

Emil Audero also had some saves to make on Juan Cuadrado and in stoppages Filip Kostic, while Adrien Rabiot had a goal disallowed for Vlahovic’s offside position.

“We have kept two clean sheets this season,” Allegri told DAZN.

“Sampdoria did well in the first half, we showed some good things after the break and had a big chance at the end, unfortunately the thing we must never do in football is to back off. It happened against Sassuolo too, we ran backwards, it’s a pity because we dropped two points tonight.

“Moise Kean was going backwards on that corner in stoppages and took the ball off Bremer’s head. You must never run backwards.”

The most worrying statistic showed the first half that Vlahovic had only three touches of the ball and one of those was the kick-off.

“We did not do well in the first half, but Dusan played better in the second and he just needs to be a bit calmer when the ball reaches him.

“We occupied the penalty area better after the break too, but we certainly need to work to do better.”

Juventus were tipped as Scudetto contenders, but this was a dismal performance that had fans up in arms online, so how does Allegri respond to the criticism?

“We are missing Paul Pogba and Federico Chiesa, who are important players. We want to achieve something great, we are a little further behind schedule than the others and need a little more patience.

“Not conceding a goal in two games is a good sign, now we will prepare for the big match against Roma.”

  1. You are missing Di Maria 😉 and attacking tactics LOL

kept a clean sheet against SAMPDORIA AHHAAHHAAHA

  2. 😂 😂 😂

    CALMAAA!!!

The audacity of young Cypher to complain. I have always said PhD Max was a disaster even during his first stint. Now the very same fans dare to complain. Suck it up. Against Roma PhD Max will deploy operation 11-0-0. Dusan will have one touch only and hopefully Dybala gets his first goal against the minnows of Europe.

  3. While the game was a tough one and Giampaolo proved a capable coach to stifle the opponents’ tactics, still there’s no excuse for the lack of attacking movements.

Yet again we see too many tactical approaches to this beautiful game, which happens 108% of the time in Italy while the rest of the continent moves forward and plays a more direct game.

It’s a shame that Italians keep on doing this, and is why the game ended 0:0.

That said, while we dropped 2 points, it’s not the end of the world. The positive thing is, a clean sheet.

Every team had a difficult match in these first 2 games. inter scrapped at the last minute with Lecce, Milan drew with Atalanta, Roma managed to bail themselves out with two minnows that proved incredibly difficult to open up, Napoli is the only one to score out of bounds, but that happens all the time and they’ll run out of gas by December.

  4. “we are a little further behind schedule than the others and need a little more patience.”

Why it’s behind schedule every year? Why you couldn’t kick off training earlier and make sure it’s on schedule?

Need patience for how long? 3 or 5 years?

  5. Gump, you’ve been posting here daily about Allegri since his first stint? Wow. He totally lives in your head…
