Stefano Pioli brought glory back to Milan once again and the club are reportedly preparing to reward him with a new long-term contract.

The 56-year-old Italian coach joined the Rossoneri in October 2019, being the replacement for the dismissed Marco Giampaolo, and he immediately started working on a project alongside managers Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara. The fruits of their labour was seen last season when Milan lifted their first Scudetto in over a decade.

As reported by Tuttosport, Pioli’s current contract with Milan expires in 2023 but contains an option for a further year, but the club want to tie him down with a new deal.

The current idea is to move forward with a multi-year contract, longer than just two years, and the parties will work on an agreement in the coming weeks.

Since his arrival in October 2019, Pioli has overseen 149 Milan matches, averaging 1.97 points per match.

  1. No NO NO NO, Pioli is not good enough for the champions league, even in serie A he as troubles by winning the games with enough goals. He plays to slow, he don’t play one toch football, he don’t play pressure football, Pioli is afraid for playing real attacking football with pressure. Pioli have no idea how he wants to play for scoring goals, how many goals have Milan socred?? to many, we win games with 1-0 or 2-1 or 2-0.

  2. To me, I can’t fault Pioli on anything, the management refuse to spend, even Guadiola, and Ancelotti won’t do much with our present squad, do u guys want to tell me that Mourinho isn’t a good coach? How is he faring now? I think Pioli deserves the contract extension, but he need quality players and quality bench

  3. I can’t believe how disrespectful some people are. Pioli is the reason they have managed to come out of their caves after a decade, and this is how they repay him.

Not good enough lol he literally won the Scudetto with a bunch of mediocre youngsters and a couple of talented ones, plus a few forgotten veterans. Have some respect 🤌
