Adriano Galliani has revealed that Milan didn’t come close to signing Kaka after failing to reach an agreement with Real Madrid.

“We couldn’t make Kaka an economical offer without the consent of Real Madrid,” the Diavolo Vice-President told Sky Sport Italia.
“We wanted to take him on loan, but they only wanted to sell him outright and we couldn’t go over their heads.”
One piece of transfer business which the club did complete was the decision to hand Inter €7m and Antonio Cassano for Giampaolo Pazzini.
“Inter President Massimo Moratti is a gentleman and we quickly came to an agreement,” he added. “Swaps take place in football and Milan is a serene city where things can happen without any problems.”
The transfer chief also elaborated on their swoop for Roma’s Bojan Krkic, while ruling out a future bid for the seemingly ‘unhappy’ Cristiano Ronaldo of Real Madrid.
“We have an option for Bojan with Barcelona, but they have a counter option as well,” he explained. “Technically the player is on loan to us from Roma.
“Ronaldo? I’d like to be as unhappy as he is… There is no chance that he can arrive in Italy. Players who earn that much can not be signed by us.”
Milan are a much-changed side after a summer of high profile departures, but Galliani insists that boss Massimiliano Allegri has a competitive squad.
“I’m in constant contact with Allegri,” he added. “There is no problem with him at all. We just always have to play to win because we are Milan.
“We are on a good path and we know that we have to finish between first and third, but we can’t have a minimum objective.
