Gennaro Gattuso is making progress in his battle against an eye problem after he took part in a training game for Milan on Monday.

The veteran midfielder hasn’t featured in any kind of match since the 2-2 draw with Lazio on September 9.

Gattuso was replaced in that encounter after complaining of double vision. Subsequent tests revealed a paralysis of the seventh cranial nerve.

The 2006 World Cup winner, whose vision hasn’t been right since picking up the problem, has been training on his own for the last eight weeks.

However, he trained with his Rossoneri teammates at Milanello earlier today and then had a kick about with his colleagues.

The 33-year-old former Rangers man revealed last month that he feared that his career may have come to an end.

Doctors admitted that they could do very little to treat the problem, but added that it would fully heal given time.

Milan recently suggested that Gattuso could be sidelined for around six months.
