Milan look to have missed out on Alvaro Morata as Sky Sport Italia claims the Real Madrid striker is “very close” to Chelsea.

According to the broadcaster via Tuttomercatoweb, Madrid opened talks with Chelsea on Wednesday about the Spaniard possibiliy moving to the Blues, who are now “his likeliest destination”.

Furthermore, the former Juventus attacker has “already expressed his intention” to leave Los Blancos as he wants to be a leading light elsewhere.

Morata appeared to be closing in on a switch to Milan, but it is understood that Madrid’s demands – in the region of €80m – proved too much.

That, coupled with Borussia Dortmund’s insistence on keeping Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, seemingly leaves Andrea Belotti and Nikola Kalinic as the only striking options available to the Rossoneri on the market.
