Reports in Spain claim Milan are in pole position to sign Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata.

The 24-year-old returned to Estadio Bernabeu last summer after Los Merengues activated a buyback clause included in the deal which took him to Juventus.

The Rossoneri have been linked with the Spanish international in the past, but it was thought he preferred a move to the Premier League.

However, Marca is reporting this morning that Morata is now hugely tempted to make the move to San Siro, as he’d be guaranteed a starting spot.

In addition, he already has experience of the Italian League and his wife, who he met while in Turin, is Italian.

It remains to be seen if Madrid will be open to a sale, and even if they were they would still demand around €60m.

On the other hand, Marca believes Morata would be willing to accept a lower salary in Italy than he’d earn at Chelsea or Manchester United.
