Demetrio Albertini admits Milan could beat Juventus tomorrow, but warns that they still have ‘everything to prove’ this season.

The Rossoneri are in high spirits heading into Week 3’s clash at home to traditional title rivals Juventus, who they currently share top spot with on maximum points.

For their former midfielder, who regularly played in this fixture over 10 years ago, tomorrow’s game could go either way.

“In my day it was a championship game par excellence. Today, Milan are a work in progress. They have changed a lot,” Albertini has considered to Tuttosport.

“It’s too early to say that Inzaghi will fight for the Scudetto. The real group will only be seen in times of trouble. Milan have everything to prove.

“But for sure Inzaghi may be able to beat Juventus already. Meanwhile, the enthusiasm is sustaining Milan. And then, in the future…

“Whoever wins, if one of the two does win, it will send out a very strong message. Milan can start flying, taking awareness and confidence.

“And maybe one day they can say it all began with that victory. Inzaghi has the features and the passion to create a winning Milan.

“Even for the Bianconeri this will be a key test. The first against a big side. Juventus remains the favourite. Both for the win tomorrow and for the title at the end of the season.

“But they have changed Coach. And they have to start from scratch. Allegri can begin a cycle in Turin, as Capello did after Sacchi at Milan.”

The former FIGC Vice-President also considered

“From the rest Roma remain the best equipped. They have changed little, they are very reinforced. Then, there are possible surprises. Milan, Inter, which is another work in progress, and maybe even Napoli.

“I am very confident when I think of Milan and Juve, I see them both able to play a good season.

“Even in Europe, with the Bianconeri.”
