Milan will meet with Rafael Leao’s entourage next week to try and finally agree the details of a new contract, reports detail.

Only 18 months are left on the 23-year-old’s current contract in the Lombardy capital and the Rossoneri have been working to tie him down to a new deal for months now, aware of the serious interest in their Portuguese forward. Many clubs around Europe, including Chelsea, are fans of Leao and could look to make an offer for him in the coming months.

As reported by TMW, Leao’s agent Ted Dimvula will arrive at Milan’s headquarters on Monday next week to discuss the details of a new contract. The player’s adviser Jorge Mendes has seemingly found a deal that suits everyone: a contract worth around €7m net per season with a release clause of around €120m.

This would allow the 23-year-old to leave in the face of a super offer but also guarantee some stability in regards to his future at Milan.

The Milanese club are growing increasingly confident and hope that an agreement can be reached soon, although they still need to decide if they’re willing to pay commissions to both Mendes and Dimvula.

  1. 120m is too low for him. Someone will definitely pay in the summer. One season wonders of Aston Villa and Benfica are worth more than that. Leao of Milan should at least have a 150m option but imo he’s worth even more than that. A player like him who has a goal contribution in almost every Serie A match at the age of 23 is priceless.

  2. The truth is crystal clear: the board must do the utmost to keep him. Leão is really one of very best nowadays on the business, I would even say that in order to find a better player than him, one has to look for a superlative superstar like Mbappe or even a legend like Messi. Yes, our Rafa is that good and has the potencial to be even stronger.
