A Milan fan jokingly asked Amazon to send Charles De Ketelaere back to Belgium following his slow start to life with the club.

The Rossoneri seemingly focused their efforts on signing the 21-year-old from Club Brugge in the summer, paying around €32m to secure his signature. Unfortunately for De Ketelaere, he’s failed to hit the ground running in Lombardy and has done little to impress in his first six months with Milan.

De Ketelaere played the full 120 minutes of Milan’s Coppa Italia loss to Torino yesterday, failing to produce much of note throughout the game.

After the match, a Rossoneri fan complained about De Ketelaere’s performance on Twitter, saying: “Come on, do the return with Amazon, he’s unbelievable sh*t.”

An Amazon customer services representative responded, asking: “Hi, how can we help you?”

“Yes, I have a package from Belgium I’d like to return,” came the response from the Milan fan, whose wordplay did not go unnoticed. ‘Pacco’ means package in Italian but is also the colloquial equivalent to ‘flop’ in English-language football parlance.

Amazon seemingly missed the joke and offered genuine advice, noting: “Is this a return for an item that was shipped by Amazon or a third-party seller? You can check this in the order confirmation e-mail.”

“Third-party seller,” the fan replied. Amazon continued their help, saying: “In this case, I advise you to contact the seller directly who can give you more appropriate assistance with your return. You can contact him by following the instructions here. We remain at your disposal.”

The exchange came to an end after the fan tagged Club Brugge, simply saying: “Good evening Club Brugge.”
