Leo Duarte made his Milan debut off the bench, but the Rossoneri played out a disappointing 0-0 draw with Serie C side Cesena.

Marco Giampaolo again used Suso as a trequartista, this time behind Samu Castillejo and Krzysztof Piatek, as Rafael Leao was carrying a slight injury. Ismael Bennacer and Rade Krunic didn’t make the trip, while Lucas Paqueta was on the bench.

Despite the summer friendly status, Cesena were quite aggressive in their tackling and pressing game, seeing a goal disallowed for Emanuele Valeri’s offside position.

The first genuine Rossoneri opportunity came 34 minutes in, when Mateo Musacchio met a Davide Calabria cross and desperate defending almost resulted in an own goal.

Paqueta replaced Lucas Biglia at half-time and it certainly livened Milan up, Suso forcing a save and Castillejo horribly wasting a golden opportunity.

Piatek, Ricardo Rodriguez and Hakan Calhanoglu started to shoot on sight, while Brazilian defender Leo Duarte made his debut.

Andre Silva also came off the bench, but his first touch let him down badly when clear on goal.
