Sinisa Mihajlovic’s side beat Carpi last night to advance to the Coppa Italia semi-finals, but the Colombian is now calling for focus on the League.

“We’re very happy to have progressed to the semi-finals but now we will focus on Serie A and this weekend’s match with Fiorentina,” Zapata told Milan Channel.

“We’ve improved a lot. Against Roma we had chances to win the match but we weren’t able to take them.

“We need to pick up a positive result against Fiorentina. We must put in a great performance if we want to collect all 3 points.

“Fiorentina play good football, and they have a strong attack with a lot of players that are always on the move. We will need to stay focused at all times and not give them any space.

“We have the qualities to climb back up the table and we have to start as of this weekend.”

Carlos Bacca scored with an audacious rabona finish in last night’s match, and Zapata wasn’t surprised to see his compatriot score that way.

“I know Bacca well and he likes to try the rabona. When I saw that he dribbled past the goalkeeper, I thought right away he would try it because he rarely strikes the ball with his left foot.

“He’s a top player who is playing very well. He still has plenty in his locker, but he is already playing a big part for the team.”
