Milan are still working to agree a new deal with midfielder Ismael Bennacer but the two parties have not agreed how much his salary will be increased by yet.

The 24-year-old Algerian midfielder is a key part of Stefano Pioli’s squad in the Lombardy capital and will continue to play an important role. His current deal expires with the Rossoneri in 2024 and both parties are happy to move forward together, but things are not proving simple.

As detailed by Calciomercato.com, Milan’s most recent salary offer to Bennacer sits at around €3m net per season, a substantial raise from his current €1.7m net wages. The 24-year-old wants more than double what he currently earns, however, figures that the Rossoneri aren’t particularly willing to pay.

The two parties will meet again in the coming weeks and the club want to tie him down to a new deal before the year ends.

Bennacer has scored four goals and provided seven assists in 113 appearances across his three years with the Rossoneri.

  1. He’s one of the best players in the team and aware clubs would be out there willing to more than meet his demands .So offer him good before things get more complicated with his fine performances like Leao’s case. Not every player is going to do it like Tonali and you can’t blame them. Champions of Italy should be paid as champions .

  2. Bennacer deserve €4M a year. This Milan managements are very stupid at all. They signed Origi and quickly give him almost €4m a year but can’t give it to Bennacer. Unfortunately

  3. I remember back then we could not handle Kaka and Ibra’s salaries at around 10m so we sold them and Silva, then ruined the club future. But on the other hand we gave away millions to kaolas like Bakaye Traore (after one season at Milan he almost retired), Birsa, Acerbi (still recall how ridiculously he played at the time), Constant and the likes, who contributed almost nothing. That’s a cheap mindset.
