Bologna boss Sinisa Mihajlovic speaks out on the insults received on social media, saying some people ‘hide behind a keyboard and congratulate me in the street.’

The former defender spent the summer at hospital to continue his leukemia treatment which was diagnosed for the second time in three years.

Bologna have had a tough start to the season with just two points in four games and the coach’s daughter has hit back at social media trolls who had insulted his father.

“My daughter responded to insults that have nothing to do with football. They are the same sh… hiding behind a keyboard who would greet and congratulate me when we meet in the street,” Mihajlovic said at a press conference, as quoted by Gazzetta.

“I have no social media accounts. My daughter showed me yesterday what they had written. I am accustomed to it, my daughters a little less.

“They are upset when people write certain things about their father. When somebody crosses the line, we must hit back.

“We played four games, the 90% of the season remains. There is time to recover,” the coach continued.

“We have earned two points in four games and we know we must do more. However, these results don’t hurt our self-esteem. We have been in the match in every game, created goal-scoring opportunities, but in the end, we didn’t score.”

The Rossoblu visit Spezia at the Stadio Picco tomorrow at 14.00 UK time.
