Sinisa Mihajlovic’s daughter has hit out angrily at those who have been sending the Bologna coach insulting messages via social media. ‘Criticise his work, by all means, but not when it gets to family or his health.’

The tactician spent all summer in hospital undergoing chemotherapy, as he continues his battle against leukaemia, which was first diagnosed in July 2019.

Bologna have had a shaky start to the season, picking up just two points from four games so far and were held to a last-minute Salernitana equaliser last night.

Viktorija Mihajlovic took to Instagram Stories to denounce those who have been sending her and her father abusive messages via social media.

“I never write these things on social media, I tried not to waste time with people who hide behind a keyboard to let out their frustration, but when the limit is reached and trampled over, something has to be said.

“I don’t find it right to mix work with private life. Do you want to insult or criticise my father for his work? By all means, go ahead.

“But when it’s about family, his health and many other truly shameful things that I have read, then I do not accept that anymore.

“What you write is horrifying, don’t forget you are talking about a man, a father, that there are also kids out there who can read what you write and be hit hard by it.

“I am ashamed on your behalf.”
