Sinisa Mihajlovic insists he’s ‘not afraid’ to challenge Milan President Silvio Berlusconi in his role as Coach.

The Rossoneri patron is well-known for offering his tactical input, reportedly instructing Pippo Inzaghi to field Fernando Torres last season.

“I wouldn’t say there will definitely be any need for a confrontation,” Mihajlovic told reporters ahead of his first competitive match on the Milan bench, against Perugia.

“For now, the few times we’ve talked over the phone or in person we’ve said what we have to say. I’m not afraid to challenge him, or anyone.

“He’s the most successful President in the history of football, which can only be a good thing, but we must respect our roles.

“In the past two months we’ve been in Milan for five days, but we often talked over the phone, and it was positive for me.

“The same is true of my daily chats with [joint-CEO Adriano] Galliani.”

Carlo Ancelotti’s first game in charge of the Diavolo was also against Perugia, does Mihajlovic see this as a good omen?

“I’ll tell you after the game whether it’s a good omen or not. We’ve been working for a month, and things have changed a lot.

“Apart from the two games we played in Germany, in the others we’ve made progress. I expect improvements tomorrow.”
