Dries Mertens concedes Juventus “quality and experience in the long run” made the difference when beating Napoli 3-1.

The Belgium international had opened the scoring in Turin, but a Mario Mandzukic brace and Leonardo Bonucci sliding finish turned it around.

“We did well at the start, but Juve showed quality and experience in the long run,” Mertens told Sky Sport Italia.

Mario Rui was sent off when it was still only 2-1, receiving two avoidable yellow cards.

“We created many chances and just got it wrong on the details. It’s still early in the campaign, we played well and have to continue like this, as we’re proving ourselves to be a great team.

“Even when down to 10 men, we had the chance to make it 2-2.”
