Walter Mazzarri insists he was still satisfied with Napoli's performance despite a 0-0 home stalemate with Fiorentina.

“I am not satisfied with the result, because we always target the victory, but I liked the general attitude of the team and the football we played,” said the Coach.

“We were not lacking in hunger to win and put Fiorentina under pressure straight away. If Edinson Cavani had scored that early chance, then we would've seen a different game.

“We were not lacking in hunger to win and put Fiorentina under pressure straight away. If Edinson Cavani had scored that early chance, then we would've seen a different game.

“We were just lacking that bit of luck that we had against Juventus to break the deadlock.”

Napoli were expected to pick up all three points, having won their last five consecutive home matches and sitting pretty in second place.

“We knew the strength of Fiorentina, a team that is not in the position it deserves right now. Yet for long periods we pinned them back into their own half and dominated the match.

“Unfortunately, we'll have to get used to seeing teams come to the San Paolo in order to defend, as they are afraid of us now and put up the barricades. It is pleasing to know we are held in such high regard, but also another obstacle to overcome.

“Napoli have made the step up in quality and must continue with this mentality.”
