Walter Mazzarri and Paulo Sousa are two names being linked with the Milan job, should Vincenzo Montella be sacked.

The Rossoneri Coach has come under intense pressure in recent weeks following a poor run of results that has left the San Siro club well off the pace in the race for Champions League places.

Last night’s 2-0 home defeat to Juventus only added to the scrutiny on Montella, who has now presided over just one win in six Serie A matches.

Last night’s 2-0 home defeat to Juventus only added to the scrutiny on Montella, who has now presided over just one win in six Serie A matches.

Gazzetta dello Sport claim that although last night’s loss to the Old Lady will not prove decisive in sealing the former Fiorentina boss’ fate, patience is beginning to run out within the Rossoneri hierarchy.

Should the Diavolo’s form not improve in the coming weeks, it is likely Montella will pay the price and be relieved of his duties.

The Italian daily suggests former Inter boss Mazzarri and ex-Fiorentina Coach Sousa would be among the front runners to replace the current Milan tactician should he leave.

Both men are currently out of work, with Mazzarri having left English side Watford at the end of last season and Sousa departing the Viola at the same time.
